WOODLAND, CA (MPG) - The gross value of Yolo County agricultural production reached $911.9 million in 2025, an increase of $92.9 million, or approximately 11.3%, from 2024. Yolo County Agricultural Commissioner Humberto Izquierdo presented the 2025 Yolo County Crop Report to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The annual report, prepared by the Yolo County Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, summarizes the acreage, production and value of agricultural commodities in the county. The figures represent averaged estimates provided by Yolo County growers and ranchers. They reflect gross production value, not profit or loss, and do not capture the broader economic benefits agriculture generates for the community. The report also notes that rising production costs temper gains in gross value.

Almonds remained Yolo County’s top-ranking crop in 2025, with a gross value of $223.9 million, up approximately $45 million from 2024. Processing tomatoes remained second at $189.1 million, followed by organic production at $71.9 million, wine grapes at $67.5 million and rice at $49 million.

Fruit and nut crops accounted for much of the increase in overall agricultural value. Pistachio orchards continued to mature and produce harvestable yields, increasing bearing acreage and overall production. Pistachio prices increased by approximately 12% per ton, while olive prices increased by approximately 29% per ton. Processing tomato growers also reported higher-than-average yields in 2025, helping offset a decrease in price.

Other commodities continued to face challenges. Wine grapes declined in both acreage and value. From 2024 to 2025, 2,775 acres of wine grapes were removed from production, contributing to a $14.2 million decrease in value. The overall value of nursery products, which includes products that support the wine grape industry, declined by 17%.

Yolo County agriculture also continued to reach markets around the world. In 2025, the County issued 5,958 federal phytosanitary certificates for agricultural exports to 102 countries. Japan, India, Mexico, the Republic of Korea and China were the top five export destinations by certificates issued.
