Pierside apartments and townhomes on Riverfront Street will soon open for leasing.

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Pierside could serve as the face of the rapidly changing Bridge District.

The West Sacramento development, which features upper-end apartments and townhomes, will open later this month, the latest in the area’s decades-long metamorphosis from industrial waterfront to burgeoning destination locale.

Pierside spans nearly 400,000 square feet, including a seven-story structure with 239 apartments and 21 townhomes, and a five-story commercial, retail and amenity building.

Pierside apartments will come online in mid- to late-October, while the townhomes should be available in November, according to the company.

The Resort at The Bridge District, adjacent to Pierside, opened in August. It features a fitness center and movement studio, pool and hot tub, coworking areas, resident lounges and outdoor fire pits.

Pierside stands at the corner of Riverfront and Mill streets, across from The Foundry, a residential community, near the rehabbed Mill Street Pier and a short distance from Sutter Health Park.

Fulcrum Property, which developed the project, relocated its headquarters to the five-story structure at 995 Riverfront Street, as did Brown Construction Inc. Retail space on the ground floor has not yet been occupied.

Pierside features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments next door at 999 Riverfront Street. Apartments range in size from 621 square feet to 1,229 square feet, with prices varying from $1,914 a month to $4,532, according to information found on the Pierside website.

Townhomes at Pierside, which feature two bedrooms, range from 1,139 square feet to 1,185 square feet, and are listed for either $3,876 or $3,936 a month.

The Bridge District has seen significant growth and development in recent years, with more on the way.

This includes 805 Riverfront, a 285-unit luxury apartment complex with 10,000 square feet of retail space, which opened in 2023 and was sold last year for nearly $110 million.

Earlier this year, West Sacramento approved permits for River One, a project that will include a 193-room hotel, 57 apartments, parking garage and pool spread between two seven-story buildings. The project is between the Tower Bridge and the Ziggurat Building.

Among projects still in the planning stages is BioSpace at The Bridge District, a proposed 1.4-million-square-foot life science development near the corner of Fifth and Mill streets.
