WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) – The May installation of West Sacramento’s “West Sac Rhythm on the River” concert series will take attendees on a journey through the decades from 5:30 to 9 p.m. May 28 at Drake’s: The Barn, 985 Riverfront St., West Sacramento.

“Dancing Through the Decades” will feature live music by Adam Aldama and the Aces, family-friendly activities and food and beverages available for purchase from the event venue. The band describes themselves as a a high-energy, five-piece band formed in March 2021 by frontman Adam Aldama, according to their website, adamaldama.com/aldamaandtheaces.

Limited paid parking is available on nearby streets and in parking lots. Attendees are encouraged to rideshare, bike, or use the West Sacramento Via On-Demand Rideshare Program.

The West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department’s youth and teens division is hosting its Beach Party Dance from 6 to 9 p.m. May 29 at the Recreation Center, 2801 Jefferson Blvd. The event is a celebration of the end of the year, and participants can swim, dance or just hang out with friends. Students must have a photo ID or screen shot from Aeries. Gates open at 6 p.m. and close at 7 p.m.

This event is open to current 2025-26 students in grades six through eight. Online registration will be open from Monday, May 18 through Thursday, May 28 at: www.rec.us/organizations/city-of-west-sacramento. Cost is $15 per resident.
