YOLO COUNTY, CA (MPG) - A free workshop for Medicare recipients in Yolo County will be held Monday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. Attendees can join online or watch from one of three locations: the West Sacramento Community Center, the Woodland Senior Center or the Davis Senior Center.

The event coincides with Medicare’s Open Enrollment period, which runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.

The workshop will provide information about the Medicare drug and Advantage plans that will be available in Yolo County in 2026. Participants will learn about plan costs, benefits, and how to enroll in the plan that best meets their needs.

The workshop is offered by the Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program, or HICAP, a free nonprofit service administered by the California Department of Aging.

For more information about the workshop or to schedule a one-on-one counseling appointment, contact Yolo County’s HICAP representative Rosanne Bernardy at [email protected] or call (916) 376-8915.

Medicare health and drug plans can change annually, including updates to costs, coverage, and the providers and pharmacies included in their networks. Beneficiaries are encouraged to review their plan materials carefully each year to ensure their current plan continues to meet their needs.
