WEST SACRAMENTO, CA  (MPG) – West Sacramento residents Leanne Rodriguez, 39, and Justin Rossi, 43, have officially advanced to the national finals of America’s Favorite Couple, the playful yet prestigious competition hosted by actor Jeff Goldblum and his wife, Emilie.

After a fierce four-week voting battle against 75 couples nationwide, Leanne and Justin claimed the top spot in their group and now face off against other top contenders for the coveted title.

Voting is free but supporters can also purchase votes, with proceeds benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana, a global leader in ocean conservation.

So what makes them worthy of the crown?

“There’s absolutely no one like us,” Rodriguez said. “Our love is anything but typical.”

The pair’s dynamic is joyful: she’s 5’10” and creative, he’s 5’3” and outspoken. The couple said that they spend 99% of their time laughing (often while wearing matching outfits). They’ve become known for their authenticity, humor and infectious energy, turning heads and sparking smiles wherever they go.

If they win, the couple will take home $20,000 to launch their dream business in West Sacramento and be featured in Variety magazine.

“It’s our dream to start a business together. We’d use the prize to kickstart one of them: A line of vintage-inspired matching outfits for couples! Because let’s be real —  coordinated looks are the ultimate power move, they’re fun and there’s nothing more annoyingly sweet than a couple announcing their obsession with their outfits. A business venture like this will set us up for a lifetime of creativity and excitement,” according to their posting on the America’s Favorite Couple website.

Although they’ve only lived in the city for a year and a half, they’ve quickly fallen in love with its multicultural charm and rich agricultural heritage, and hope to plant roots here for good, they said.

“America is ready for something real,” Rossi added. “No cookie-cutter romance, just proof that love can come in any form and that laughter really is the secret.”

The next round of voting opened Aug. 11. Rodriquez and Rossi ask for their fellow West Sacramento residents to help them bring home the title.
