Closure on Babel Slough Road Due to Culvert Replacement

Jul 01, 2025 02:52PM ● By County of Yolo News Release

CLARKSBURG, CA (MPG) – Reclamation District No. 999, in coordination with the Yolo County Public Works Division, will be replacing a deteriorating culvert pipeline on Babel Slough Road, approximately three miles northwest of the Town of Clarksburg. The district’s contractor is scheduled to perform the work from June 18 through July 11, weather permitting.

To ensure a safe construction zone, Babel Slough Road will be closed to all traffic between State Route 84 (Jefferson Boulevard) and Pumphouse Road until the work is completed. Traffic control will be managed by the Yolo County Public Works Road Maintenance staff. Travelers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Signage will be in place to alert motorists of the road closure with local access to properties and businesses within the closed section will be maintained during construction.

This coordinated effort is essential to maintain irrigation service and storm drainage capacity in the area. For a map of Yolo County road closures, please visit www.YoloCounty.gov/road-closures.
