The Lift Span Deck Replacement for the Rio Vista Bridge has been completed, however, there are still items of work remaining. Motorists should expect single lane reversing traffic control through the year.

Work is on schedule to have the Paintersville Bridge back in service on July 31 as planned.

These delta bridges were originally constructed in the early 1920s and then reconstructed or refurbished in the early 1950s. Repair work is required to ensure the safety of the structures.

Weather conditions could delay or cancel scheduled work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” For motorists using the State Route 84 Real McCoy and State Route 220 Ryer Island ferries as a bridge detour, additional ferry information is located at  Delta Ferries | Caltrans or call the Caltrans Ferry Update Line at (510) 622-0120 for the latest information.
