Community Input Needed to Address Needs of Low-Income Residents
Feb 21, 2025 10:49AM ● By Yolo County News ReleaseWOODLAND, CA (MPG) – The Yolo County Community Services Action Board (CSAB) is looking for community input during a public hearing to better address the needs of low-income individuals and families residing in Yolo County.
The feedback from this hearing will be used to set service priorities for the 2026-27 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding cycle. Interested parties are invited to participate in a public hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Yolo County Health and Human Services Building, located at 25 North Cottonwood Street in Woodland (Community Room 167).
An additional public hearing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library in the Blanchard Room located at 315 E. 14th Street in Davis. Public hearing details for the city of West Sacramento and Winters are still being finalized. The dates, times, and locations will be announced in a future press release. A copy of the proposed plan will be available at least five days prior to the public hearing on the CSAB webpage at www.YoloCounty.gov/CSAB.
Established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, the CSAB serves as the region’s Community Action Agency (CAA). Its mission is to combat poverty by promoting the health, safety, stability, and self-sufficiency of low-income residence in Yolo County. As an advisory body to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, CSAB plays a key role in recommending the allocation of CSBG funds, the core funding source for CAA. To fulfill its mission, CSAB conducts a biannual community needs assessment, establishes strategic goals in alignment with the Board’s mission, evaluates the implementation and achievement of those goals, monitors the performance of services provided, and advocates for Yolo County residents living in poverty.
