West Sacramento Vice-Mayor Dawnté Early high lighted the importance of the project, saying, “This addition to the Rec Center/High School courts aligns with the city's goal of providing diverse outdoor recreation options for both young and older residents as described in our 2024 strategic plan.”
Manufactured by Musco Sport Lighting, the system is state-of-the-art and designed for energy efficiency with reduced light pollution. It features six light poles that each stand 80 feet high. With the new lighting, the community can look forward to night leagues, ladder matches, social events, and tournaments.
This project was identified in the 2019 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan and was completed between November 2023 and April 2024.
