Highway Ramp Temporarily Closed for Pavement Work
Sep 12, 2024 02:25PM ● By City of West Sacramento News ReleaseWEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) is alerting motorists of an extended ramp closure for the ongoing Yolo Interstate 80 (I-80) Pavement Rehabilitation Project happening through West Sacramento, beginning the night of Sept. 13.
Continuing construction work will include a closure of the westbound I-80 connector ramp to U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) for repaving work. Caltrans urges motorists to plan for additional travel time and to expect delays.
The scheduled closure is from 9 p.m. Sept. 13 to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the Westbound I-80 connector to eastbound U.S. Highway 50.
Detour
Use Westbound I-80 to Southbound I-5 (Exit 86) through downtown Sacramento for access to Westbound U.S. 50.
Take Westbound I-80 to Enterprise Boulevard (Exit 81) for access to Eastbound U.S. 50.
Westbound I-80 Reed Avenue (Exit 83) provides access to the City of West Sacramento.
The work zone extends from the Yolo Causeway through West Sacramento on I-80 and U.S. 50. For the safety of workers and motorists, the speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7. Work is scheduled to begin as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, availability of equipment and/or materials, and construction-related issues.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety.
