William George Kristoff Leaves Behind A Legacy
Mar 21, 2024 12:26PM ● By Jaclyn KetchumWilliam George Kristoff “Bill”, a dedicated family man and member of the West Sacramento community, passed away on March 2, 2024 at the age of 77. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and advocacy for his community.
Born in Sacramento, Bill lived his entire 77 years in West Sacramento. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and community leader he touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity. His loss will be deeply felt by all.
Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda Kristoff, his daughters, Nicole (Justin) Dice, Jaclyn (Travis) Ketchum; his grandchildren Logan, Avery, Hailey, Atticus and Tristan; his siblings Raymond (Michelle) Kristoff, Robert (Connie) Kristoff and Louise (Daniel) Amegin. Preceded in death by his parents (George and Mary Kristoff); his sister and brother-in-laws (Kathy Brandon, Obie Brandon, and Samuel Houser).
As a community leader Bill was known for his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of those around him. He served as West Sacramento City Council member for 30 years, including 3 terms as mayor. He was instrumental in bringing improvements and development to West Sacramento. Always available to address the needs of West Sacramento residents, his passion for public service was evident in everything he did, and he will be remembered for his integrity, kindness and devotion to family and community.
Outside of his work on the City Council, bill served the community as postmaster for Bryte and Broderick post offices. A devoted baseball player and fan, he coached teams and brought the River Cats to the area. Bill Kristoff’s legacy of service and dedication will continue to inspire us all. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1321 Anna Street, West Sacramento, CA 95605.
