Library Will Offer Child and Family Events in February

Turner Library February events – Turner Library is located at 1212 Merkley Avenue, West Sacramento.

Bilingual Russian Storytime/Двуязычный русский Storytime- Children ages 0 to 5 and their parents/caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, movement, rhymes, and finger-plays in Russian and English. 

Craft-a-Card: Share the love with handmade cards! Use stamps, stickers, glitter, and more to create cards for the special people in your life. All materials provided. Small children must be supervised by their responsible adult.

Family Movie: Join us for a family-friendly movie on the big screen and enjoy some free popcorn! Rated G

Family Storytime: Join us every Monday for stories, songs, and fun! All families welcome — best for ages 1-5. 

Hora de Cuentos Bilingual Spanish Storytime: Enjoy fun stories, songs, rhymes, and movement in English and Spanish. 

Hug-a-bye Baby: Sing and play with us every Tuesday at this lap-sit program for babies & their caregivers.

Lego Block Party: We provide the bricks; you bring your imagination! Best for children 6-12. Young children must be supervised by their responsible adult.

Wiggle Wednesday: Get the wiggles out at this weekly music and movement program! All families welcome — best for children ages 1-5.

Teen Anime Club: Join us in the Teen Room for an evening of anime. For teens ages 13-18.

Book Club: Join us for our monthly book club meeting! At this meeting, we will be discussing How Much of These Hills is Gold by C. Pam Zhang.

Book Sale: Stock up on gently used books, magazines, DVDs, and more at the Friends of the Library book sale in the lobby.

English Conversation Group: Join us in conversing and improving your English in a fun and relaxed way with the aid of a group facilitator. No registration is required. Drop-in visitors are always welcome. 

Friends of the Library: Want to support your library and make a difference in your community? Join the West Sacramento Friends of the Library at their monthly meeting to learn how to get involved! WSFOL is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving the West Sacramento community by supporting library programs and services. Learn more at wsfol.org. 

Maker Monday: Join us every Monday as we craft and draw together! Have fun and connect with others as we encourage each other’s creativity. Bring your own project to work on or use supplies provided by the library. All skill levels welcome.  Maker Monday is intended for adults.

Savvy Saver: Tips When You’re on a Budget: Join us for a presentation by SAFE’s Financial Wellness Team to learn how to  become a Savvy Saver as they provide tips to cut spending, save on everyday purchases, and increase your savings!

Securing Social Security: Join us for a presentation by SAFE’s Financial Wellness Team to understand the role your Social Security benefits can play in your financial future. 

Spanish Conversation Group: Looking to practice and improve your conversational Spanish? Join us weekly to practice Spanish in a relaxed way with the help of a group facilitator. Drop-in visitors always welcome.

Tax Help by Appointment: Free basic tax return help for qualified individuals. Call 211 to make an appointment. Tax help is provided by IRS trained volunteers through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Library staff cannot help you with your taxes.

Yoga at the Library: Come relax your mind and body with our weekly yoga class led by certified instructor Maria Betts. Be sure to bring a mat and bottled water and wear comfortable athletic clothing. Beginners welcome!
