Learn About Fruit Tree Care in Free Interactive Class
Jan 16, 2024 12:57PM ● By Yolo County News ReleaseWOODLAND, CA (MPG) – Yolo County residents are invited to learn about fruit tree care with Bonnie Berman, a UC Master Gardener, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hanna & Herbert Bauer Memorial Community Garden in Woodland. This free interactive class is presented by the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and will focus on fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees. Winter is the optimal time to care for your fruit trees to help them stay healthy and productive.
This class is available to all and is part of HHSA’s commitment to providing education to help residents eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Pre-registration is required by January 26 and can be completed by contacting Nick Gazda at [email protected] or at (530) 666-8429. Please dress for cold weather and wear shoes that can get dirty. The garden is located at 137 N. Cottonwood St. in Woodland, along the west side of the HHSA Bauer Building. Please note that in the event of rain, the class will be moved indoors.
