Holy Cross Festival Returning

After not being able to hold their annual festival since COVID, Holy Cross Church is hosting their summer festival on Aug 5 and 6. 2023 will mark the 67th Festival that the Church has hosted, each one being full of good food, great music, and lots of fun.
As with previous years, the festival has several booths planned with great food and a variety of drinks and spirits. The music lineup includes a DJ, bands and individual singers. There will be activities for the kids, pull tabs for the adults and this year there will be vehicles from a local car club on display. The arrangements are still being made and there is still room for anyone who would like to have a booth, sponsor, volunteer or donate.
There will be children’s booths to delight the younger crowd including, clown toss, fishing pond, dime toss, white elephant pick, spin wheel for plush animals, confetti eggs and face painting – all back again by popular demand. Other fun attractions will be the Holy Cross rummage sale in the church auditorium where treasures from seasonal decorations, dishes, small appliances, art, jewelry, and clothing can be found. The annual Holy Cross Parish raffle tickets are available for purchase at the raffle booth with 4 winning prizes: 1st prize, $1,000; 2nd prize, $500; 3rd prize, $250; and 4th prize, $100.
West Sacramento’s best food and Holy Cross favorites: Piroshkies, tacos, corn, flavored waters and sodas, fruit cups, pastries, etc. will be available both days. Delicious menudo will be available Sunday morning only.
Holy Cross says that the businesses in the community have been very supportive this year. Sponsors include: Holy Cross Knights of Columbus Council 7634, Ray’s Air Solution Inc., W.F. The festival music lineup is as follows: Saturday, August 5th – DJ Pete; Opening Prayer, DJ Pete 12 – 2 pm; Two Brothers/San Pedro 2 – 4pm; Tony 4 – 5 pm; DJ Pete 5 – 6 pm; Sugar High 6 – 10 pm. Sunday, August 6th – DJ Pete 12 – 1 pm; Francisco Voz del Marichi 1 – 3 pm; Enrique Garcia y Grupo 3 – 5 pm; Los Juarez 5 – 7 pm.
Holy Cross Church is located at 1321 Anna St, West Sacramento. The festival’s hours will be Saturday, August 5, 12 noon until 10:00 PM and Sunday, August 6, 12 noon until 7:00 PM.
