MARYSVILLE, CA (MPG) - The Gridley Bulldogs high school girls volleyball team spiked the Marysville Indians in a non-league match up on Sept. 1.

This was the first meeting between the two teams since the 2019 - 2020 regular season.

Gridley (7-7) took the first set of the match but needed to play extra points to get the two-point separation to be able to win the set from Marysville (2-6).

The Indians took the second and third set by winning the sets 26-24 and 25-19.

Marysville senior outside hitter Emma Mangini made the biggest impact on the game with 16 kills throughout the match.

Mangini has the best kill per set average of 1.9 through the season so far along with leading the team with 25 kills as of Sept. 1.

The Bulldogs were led by senior outside hitter Emry Egan with 12 kills and junior middle hitter Gracie Dewsnup with 15 kills.
