SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - On April 28, 2022, the Sacramento Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), presented the Sacramento History Alliance with a donation contributing towards paying interns to learn to professionally care for historic photographs and film. The interns will acquire practical experience while digitizing some of the Sacramento History Center’s collection. This gift is the third of three to the Sacramento region, celebrating the Chapter’s centennial anniversary. The first gift funded two Sacramento City College nursing scholarships. The second helped 4Paws2Freedom acquire shelter and rescue dogs to train as service dogs for Sacramento area veterans diagnosed with PTSD.
“The Sacramento Chapter is delighted to contribute towards the preservation of Sacramento historic records and the education of interns,” said Janet Fulton, Regent. She continued, “The three areas of emphasis for DAR in nationwide community service are Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism. This project touches on two of the three.”
