WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - VFW Post 8762, West Sacramento’s last remaining Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, is proud to announce the much-anticipated 2023 Veterans Day Parade. This event is dedicated to honoring our heroes and will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2023, starting at 11:00 a.m. The parade route will begin at the old Westmore Oaks Elementary location (1100 Clarendon St) through Park Blvd and culminate at the corner of Park Blvd and Stone Blvd.

The VFW is proud to organize the parade with the support of West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero, who highlighted the VFW’s vital role in supporting the city's veterans. Mayor Guerrero stated, “The VFW is a rich part of West Sacramento’s proud history, serving as a popular gathering place for the community to celebrate, grieve, and bolster community-based organizations. It is my honor to take part in their effort to bring our community together to honor and celebrate our veterans.”

Several dignitaries are confirmed to participate in the parade, including Mayor Pro Tem Quirina Orozco, City Council Members Norma Alcala, Verna Sulpizio-Hull, Dr. Dawnté Early-West, and various city commissioners. Local groups, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Southport Westmore Oaks Marching Band, and the River City High School Cheerleaders and Marching Band, have also pledged their participation. Additionally, numerous local organizations, clubs, private businesses, and community members will be part of this memorable event.
